Shagreen, the richly textured hide of a shark, stingray, or dogfish, has symbolized the pinnacle of sophistication and luxury for many centuries. The exotic skin first made its appearance on the hilts of Japanese swords during the Middle Ages and eventually reached its full potential as a fabric in the Art Deco era, covering cabinets, desks, and other furnishings in the homes of French aristocrats.

Faux Painted Shagreen can be applied to most any surface. The process is rapid and colors can be adjusted to fit interior color schemes. The cost is approximately $45 per ft depending on volume and time to prepare surfaces.
