Finally feeling like my painting style is starting to emerge. Weaknesses are narrowing to corrections that will be correct within a short time from now. My maturity as an oil painter will happen within this collection. 

 

With this group of paintings I will be attempting to make a statement as an artist for the first time in my 35 year painting career. Concepts are emerging and at this point it is certain that it will express my relationship with the Belizean landscape and culture. The first showing will be in Belize. 

The pieces to come will move towards cultural context, portraits and figure. -André
